Susan is an accomplished communications professional with particular expertise in technology and social media. She has led dozens of programs for companies across a range of industries and is known for her ability to develop compelling messaging and creative and strategic programs. Today, she leads the work Horn Group conducts for Motorola's Good Technology Division, Riverbed and Lithium.
Susan is a passionate blogger. Her personal blog, The Family Room, has been profiled on Megan Morrone and Leo Laporte's Jumping Monkeys podcast, in 7X7 Magazine and on Strollerderby. Susan is also a regular contributor to BabyCenter’s MOMformation and The Silicon Valley Moms blog, where she writes on behavior and development from the parent’s perspective. She was a judge of the 2008 BlogHer Heroes Award sponsored by Wiley and is a panelist and moderator at BlogHer 2008.
Susan has been quoted in The New York Times and The San Jose Mercury News and has been linked on CNN, in The Washington Post, Lifehacker and The Daily Kos. She writes on social media trends for The Horn Group blog, where she's covered topics including Microblogging 101, the future of the press release and the 10th anniversary of The Cluetrain Manifesto. She wears her Vox tee shirt whenever she can wrestle it away from her son.
Before joining Horn Group, Susan held senior positions at the Daniel J. Edelman group of companies and Blanc and Otus. She led global programs for companies including Samsung Semiconductor, Huawei Technologies, Digeo, Firetide, Tibco Software, Charles Schwab and A.T. Kearney. Her prior corporate experience includes a marketing role at KPMG and multiple communications roles at Charles Schwab & Co., Inc, where she managed the communications function for Schwab's information technology division. She is a published translator and has a B.A in Rhetoric from the University of California at Berkeley.
