Shannon Latta
Partner & EVP
Shannon has worked in communications for almost 20 years -- the last 14 at Horn Group. She started as a senior account executive in 1994 and has applied her creative energy, get-it-done style and knack for problem solving to the company ever since. She’s worked with hundreds of the software companies and people over the years who’ve helped shape the technology industry including Right Media, WebEx, Geoffrey Moore, Commerce One, Vantive/PeopleSoft and Visigenic/Borland.
After running our SF office for 5 years, today her emphasis is on company strategy, brand development and marketing programs. She keeps her feet wet by always working with a handful of clients on strategy and positioning, and she conducts our VoicePower media training workshops. Tapping into her international spirit, she directs the Oriella PR Network, our alliance of 20 agencies around the world that we co-founded in 2006.
Shannon's past positions include PR manager at Ingres/Computer Associates (who valiantly competed in the database wars of the early 1990s), co-manager of the SF Bar Association's California Minority Counsel Program (when she thought she wanted to be a lawyer), contributing writer for various San Francisco magazines, and advertising associate for a national art gallery.
Shannon contributes regularly to Horn Group’s blog and writes her own blog where she explores life with one foot in the US and one abroad in France. She served for four years on the board of BAVC, the largest independent media arts center in the country.
She earned degrees in communications and music from Mills College, Oakland, Calif., and is an accomplished pianist and photographer. Shannon is also a happy new mother of twin boys.
